Challenge & Distance Training

Taking that first step

For those taking on longer swims and endurance challenges, I offer tailored distance training in river, lake, or sea environments, designed to prepare you for the full reality of open water. This goes beyond just swimming — we’ll cover pacing, feeding strategies, nutrition, logistics, and the practical details that make long swims possible. Just as importantly, we’ll work on the mental side: building resilience, managing discomfort, and learning how to keep going when things get tough. I’ll share the techniques, tricks, and experience that help you swim not just for minutes, but for hours — giving you the confidence to face your challenge and overcome whatever it throws at you.

Taking that first step into open water can feel daunting, but it doesn’t have to be. My beginner 1:1 sessions are designed to gently build your confidence, helping you feel safe, calm, and in control from the very start. Whether it’s your first time in a river, lake, or the sea, we’ll go at your pace — focusing on breathing, body position, and simply getting comfortable in the water. There’s no pressure, no expectations — just support, encouragement, and the space to discover that you’re more capable than you think.
